Dear All, These are notes from our meeting on 14 April 2014. It was noted that it was John Cox's birthday - Happy Birthday, John! The meeting planned for the 19 March was cancelled and future meetings will be on the SECOND MONDAY of each month. CLG REPORT A quite meeting but Ray will chase up Amandeep regarding his sharing of the Quiet Route proposals. SUSTRANS MEETING The Fairlop Waters Path is open now but will open officially in July. Maps are to come. The Bretons Bridge project is under way and is expected to open in August. Quietway#1 Aldgate - Straford - Barkingside is expected to complete in 2017 (!!) EVENTS The Mark-it events on the first Saturday each month continue to be well-received. The stall at International Womens Day was run as planned and we have pledged to help with a series of Sustrans events run from local schools which we hope will tie in with Bike Week in June. We are supporting the Cycling Project Launch event in Hornchurch Country Park on 17 Apr 14. Also, a ride on Route 13 is planned for 1/6/14 SUSTRANS RANGER ALLOCATIONS Suggested Scheme: Harold Hill to Pages Wood: Mark Philpotts and John Cox Pages Wood to RSPB: John Purvis, Jeff Stafford and Terry Hughes Please shout if you disagree. BRIDGE AVENUE This has had traffic calming in the form of road narrowing planters to create pinch points at intervals but as yet the results have not been promising as vehicles are still travelling at speed. Terry checked and the 20mph signage is complete but the situation is being monitored by council officers. LOCAL ELECTIONS 2014 The Ward Asks were submitted and the LCC's tool is now live on their website so members of the public can now add their voice to the call for more Space For Cycling. MERCHANDISING We now have the LCC Space for Cycling merchandise pack in hand for distribution. Terry will look into obtaining table cloths with the HC logo for our stall tables. DONM is planned for MONDAY 11 May at the Chequers PH in North Street. As always, see the web site at www.haveringcyclists.org for the latest news. Please feel free to add or correct my notes as appropriate. Terry
