Dear Fellow Cyclists, Please see attached the notes of our Havering Cyclists' meeting from the 13th August 2018. LIVEABLE NEIGHBOURHOODS We are still waiting to see anything firm in writing. We will keep pressing for meaningful consultations and will raise it again at the next CLG. CARGO BIKE STORAGE We have now made alternative storage arrangements for the cargo bike and it is now placed in a useful location ready to support future events. INGREBOURNE VALLEY WAY Although we have seen that the overgrown vegetation has been cut from the sides of Route 136 at Rainham, the cuttings have been left over the path instead of being cleared. We will raise this. EVENTS We supported the RideLondon event again this year with a "feeder ride" though this year, we started it from Upminster. Despite some confusion over the start and end points, we think it was a success with 15 riders travelling up from what is one of the furthest boroughs from the event. We normally support the Havering Town Show but we have not yet been approached. Terry will check on the position with Havering Council. CYCLE LIAISON GROUP MEETINGS The next CLG is on 13th September. Agreed that it would be helpful to gain input and support from other local cycling groups so we will share details of the meetings to see if more local cyclists can attend. NEXT MEETING Our next meeting is planned for Monday 10th September at the Windmill PH in Upminster Bridge. As always, see www.haveringcyclists.org for the latest news.
