Dear Fellow Cyclists, Please see attached the notes of our Havering Cyclists' meeting on 14th November 2016. SUNDAY CYCLE CLUB The Sunday Cycle Club rides have been well attended and seem to be appreciated. We now have a banner sited at the Visitor Centre but will remove it when the rides cease later in the year. CLG FEEDBACK Queens Hospital are hoping to plan a charity bike ride. Currently the requirements are unclear but we have offered assistance. Improvements to cycle facilities are planned including the junction of Eastern Road and South Street and along the A1306. HAVERING COUNCIL AND CYCLING We have been concerned to learn that a change in approach by Havering Council has seen a number of cycle schemes removed from next year’s Local Implementation Plan. Ray has written to the council leader to ask for a meeting to discuss this further. INGREBOURNE VALLEY WAY We have been told that temporary repairs are to be made very shortly to the paths in Pages Wood that were damaged by heavy rain. This is good news as this path forms an important part of Route 136. NEXT MEETINGS Our next meeting s planned for Monday 14th November at JJ Moons PH in High Street Hornchurch. Just look out for the table where people, (or at least one person), are wearing red LCC or Sustrans tee shirts. As always, see the web site at www.haveringcyclists.org for the latest news. Regards Terry
