Dear Fellow Cyclists, Please see below the notes of our Havering Cyclists' meeting on 9th October 2017. EVENTS We supported the Havering Town Show for both days with the cargo bike which acted as an information stand. As you might recall, the weather was glorious and there were plenty of takers for our cycling maps and guides. ITEMS FOR THE NEXT CLG -Reinstatement of the Cycling Newsletter -Progress on Quietways -Update on Cedar Road Scheme -Update on Romford Town Centre -Update on Rainham -Update on bidding for Liveable Neighbourhoods funding CYCLE ROUTE SUGGESTIONS Ray suggested a route via Mark's Road across North Street which would create a Quiet Route alternative to the North part of the Romford Ring Road. This now appears to have been taken on board by the council. MATERIALS We distributed a lot of maps and guides in the summer and need to restock on bags. Terry has them on order. We also need more LCC leaflets which have been out of print. Fran from LCC will send some through shortly. WEB SITE UPDATE Our web site support contract is up for renewal and it was agreed to move it to a more reliable supplier. BUILDING OUR MEMBERSHIP Fran suggested we get extra copies of the local insert for the LC magazine to circulate to local libraries and cycle shops. We will. NEXT MEETINGS Our next meeting will be the AGM planned for Monday 13th November at JJ Moons PH in High Street Hornchurch. Just look out for the table where people, (or at least one person), are wearing red LCC or Sustrans tee shirts. As always, see the web site at www.haveringcyclists.org for the latest news. Regards Terry
