Dear Fellow Cyclists, Please see attached the notes of our Havering Cyclists' meeting from the 8th October 2018. LIVEABLE NEIGHBOURHOODS We have been in contact with LCC head office on how to move forwards with Havering's bid meanwhile we saw on the agenda for the next CLG on 17th October that this item has a 40 minute slot so we can expect an update and the opportunity for a discussion. ENGAGEMENT OF COUNCIL MEMBERS It was suggested that we arrange a cycle ride for Havering Council members to help them understand our issues. We would particularly like to include the cabinet member responsible for transport. Another suggestion was to arrange a visit for members to see examples of good cycling facilities such as Waltham Forest. These ideas are under consideration. RIGHT OF WAY OFF BRAMBLE LANE Nick raised the issue of what was previously used as an off-road route between Bramble Lane and Belhus Park. This does appear on some cycling maps although access from Bramble Lane has been blocked for some time. We will raise this at the CLG to see if we can determine if it is a right of way. CYCLE LIAISON GROUP MEETINGS The next CLG is on 17th October. It was previously agreed that it would be helpful to gain input and support from other local cycling groups so we will share details of the meetings to see if more local cyclists can attend. NEXT MEETING Our next meeting is planned for Monday 12th November at the Windmill PH in Upminster Bridge. As always, see www.haveringcyclists.org for the latest news.
