The government has issued an update on last year’s encouraging Gear Change document setting out the progress made so far and what is planned for the future.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson says in the forward: “I support councils, of all parties, which are trying to promote cycling and bus use. And if you are going to oppose these schemes, you must tell us what your alternative is, because trying to squeeze more cars and delivery vans on the same roads and hoping for the best is not going to work.”
We welcome this continued commitment and very much hope our local politicians can take it on board and support it.
