Havering Cyclists News Bulletin

A quick roundup of recent news:

Active Travel Strategy Consultation

We are pleased to see that the long-awaited Active Travel Strategy has now been drafted and put out for consultation. There is a lot to like here in that it sets some ambitious aims and is well thought through but sadly, the associated action plan lacks any firm proposals to build infrastructure but instead it just sets out lots of things that the council will “review”.

The consultation is open until 6th December and a detailed examination of the plan by us and our partner organisation Better Streets for Havering can be seen HERE.

Hosted by the LCC Women’s Network, this webinar on Wednesday, 27 November from 7-8pm, will look at how to report incidents to the police. Women and allies will find it particularly useful but everyone is welcome to attend. Speakers include Mariam Draaijer, Rose Simkins, Sgt Mike Daley and Georgina Wilcox. Register HERE to attend:

The Award Winning Havering Cyclists

Our Havering Cyclists campaigning group was presented with an award at this year’s London Cycling Campaign Annual General Meeting which took place this week.

Some of us have been at this for a very long time so it’s very nice to see a bit of recognition and encouragement 😊

Well done all of us!
