Here are details of a sponsored bike ride in support of the Lennox Childrens Cancer Fund organised by the family of Sophia.
This is their story:
Three years ago, our daughter Sophia was diagnosed with two rare forms of cancer, which unfortunately led to the amputation of her leg below the knee. Despite her challenges, Sophia has been an inspiration to many, and Pie Events, alongside Sophia’s biggest advocate, her Dad Lee, is organising a bike ride to raise funds the Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund and raise awareness of Childhood Cancer. Sophia and Guinness World Record holder Graeme Knott will be riding tandem, embarking on this incredible journey to inspire others and spread hope.
There are two distances for you to choose from:
- 50km: A daring challenge that is perfect for beginners or children.
- 100km: Ideal for cycling veterans looking for a bigger test of stamina.
Both routes will start at Bluewater Shopping Centre and offer breath-taking views of the Kent countryside before looping back to Bluewater Shopping Centre, where your friends and family can cheer you on as you cross the finish line!
The 50km route will include one stop at Otford Village Hall, while the 100km route will have three stops, including one at the stunning Tonbridge Castle.
Throughout the ride, you will be guided and supported by experienced Pie guides, or you can choose to follow a GPX route if you prefer.
Why Cycle for Lennox?
Childhood Cancer had a devastating impact on Sophia and our family. However, Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund provided us with incredible support during these challenging times. For over 30 years, they have been offering emotional, financial, and practical assistance to families like ours. In the past three years, their projects have expanded, allowing them to help more families than ever before. In addition to respite breaks, care and crisis grants, and emotional support, they now also provide “We’ve Got Your Back” packs to newly diagnosed families, mental health support, and treasure boxes for children and siblings.
